Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

A commitment to safe, accessible, and affirming care.

Safe Spaces Are Not Optional

At Rae of Hope, inclusion is a foundational clinical requirement. I am committed to providing care that honors the intersectionality of every client I serve.

Anti-Ableism
I reject the 'normalization' of disabled bodies. Therapy is about quality of life and autonomy, not fixing perceived 'abnormalities.'
LGBTQ2S+ Affirming
I provide gender-affirming care and respect all pronouns and identities. Conversion-based strategies have no place in my practice.
Cultural Safety
Recognizing the harms of colonization, I work to provide culturally respectful care that supports reconciliation and honors Indigenous wisdom.

Active Commitments

  • Unlearning Bias: Regular participation in anti-racist and anti-oppressive training.
  • Financial Accessibility: Offering sliding-scale pricing models for those in rural poverty.
  • Identity-First Language: Adopting the terminology preferred by each client (e.g., Person-First or Identity-First).
  • Physical Accessibility: Ensuring all mobile locations and tools are accessible to mobility-aid users.

"Music therapy is a human right. Access to it should never be hindered by identity or background."
